A Happy Lunar New Year

It has been some time since my last post. Today i am back to post ones again!

Ok so been to esplanade last sunday to watch NYP Sinfonia 2009 Concert. It is my first time going to the esplanade to watch a concert although the esplanade had been built for some time already. The NYP Sinfonia 2009 concert was simply a blast with a showcase of talent from the NYP Symphony Orchestra, NYP Voice Ensemble & NYP SoundCard.

I took some pictures of the esplanade and will post it up at the end of this post.

As for today, went to buy new year stuff with my dad and help my dad with the housework and stuff. I think most of you guys must be busy too helping to do housecleaning, buying chinese new year stuff or just to look after your brothers/sister.

I have come out with a list of stuff that most people will do during Chinese New Year:

  • Spring Cleaning (To clean the house and welcome the new year)
  • Buying New Year Stuff (From foodstuff to clothing)
  • Eat Reunion Dinner
  • "Bai Nian" (To go to your relative/grandparent/friends house to visit them)
  • Lao Yu Sheng
(Yusheng (also spelt Yu Sheng) meaning "raw fish" is a Chinese New Year dish, served traditionally on the seventh day of Chinese New Year or Ren Ri ("Everyman's Birthday"). It is a salad dish made of thin slices of raw fish and various spices, mixed with tossing actions by diners. A play on Chinese homonyms links the ingredients and tossing actions to prosperity and longevity, all adding to the good wishes for the new year.)

  • Gamble (It is quite normal for the chinese to play card games/manjong during chinese new year)

  • That is all i can think of for now. If there is anymore stuff that you guys do for chinese new year do tell me in the tagbox on my blog.

Last but not least, Roger Wishes everyone a Happy Lunar New Year.
